Sightseeing tour of London’s main attractions

About

As part of the excursion, we will visit Downing Street, where the house at number 10 is located – the residence of the British prime ministers. This address is one of the most famous addresses in the United Kingdom and in the world.

Having passed under the windows of the apartment of the Russian minister Shuvalov, we will find ourselves at the good old Scotland Yard and find out why the London police is officially called the “Scottish Yard”. We will certainly pay attention to the place of execution of Charles I Stuart and look at Westminster Abbey, where they refused to bury him. Why? We will find out about this in the process. The traditional place of coronation of the monarchs of Great Britain and the burial of great people of England, the abbey is listed as a World Heritage Site. There are also Russian details in its architectural complex.

We will visit its nice neighbor – the Church of St. Margaret, which has preserved a sundial on its tower since its foundation and is parliamentary not only in neighborhood, but also in status. Coming out through the back entrance of the church, we find ourselves in front of the Palace of Westminster. Hardly any other parliament building in the world is so recognizable.

The clock tower, on which the famous Big Ben bell is installed, is also part of it. Having paid tribute to the English Parliament, we will continue our walk on a comfortable river clipper, along the Thames. This will be our coffee break, adjusted for the London sights floating outside the window:

Tate Modern is a national museum of world modern art, which is located in the premises of a former power station,

The Globe is the most popular theater in London in the world, which is associated with the fame of William Shakespeare.

The London City Hall building – with its unusual architecture.

The museum ship “Belfast” (HMS Belfast) – as another calling card of London and the last surviving British cruiser that participated in the Second World War.

We will also visit Tower Bridge and continue our tour by visiting the oldest royal residence in England — the Tower Castle.

We will finish our walk in St. Catherine’s Docks, the most beautiful place in London, where you can enjoy the beautiful view and discuss your impressions over lunch.
